Loyola Academy: Science + Design Innovative Approaches

Loyola Academy is a summer collaborative Science + Design workshop that combines the similarities of the Scientific Process and Design Thinking Process and applies them to local environmental issues. During a week-long intensive workshop, participants learn about current environmental issues in New Orleans through hands-on experiential learning field trips, dynamic speakers, and design sessions that explore advocacy pathways while creating environmental stewards of our community.  Other highlights include learning the science + design process, exploring effective communication techniques, connecting with local organizations embedded in our community, and understanding current environmental innovations, such as green infrastructure.
